If the secretary / webmaster could be informed,  we would like to arrange a viewing at a mutually convenient time. If you or a friend enjoy singing and have always wanted to join a choir, come along to one of our rehearsals and be made welcome.

There will be no obligation to join and if you like it and can sing in tune , the choice will be yours.

A very special presentation.

In this our 102nd year, we arranged a concert on the 14th February 2026 at the working men's club in the village of Thurnscoe where we were formed in 1923. We took this opportunity to present our President and long time bass singer and wonderful soloist, Mr. Michael McGrevy with an award.

Michael joined the choir on his 18th birthday, joining his father ‘Mack’ who was also a bass. A few days before this concert and presentation, Mick celebrated 60 years with the choir and was unaware of the pending proceedings.

Our chairman, Mr. Ian Dowlman on the left of the picture introduce him to the audience and along with our musical director, Mr. Tony Jermy made the presentation of a framed certificate of Honorary Life Membership and matching Gold Cufflinks and Tie Pin. He was wearing his long service and good conduct medal awarded some years before.

At one time for a few years, three generations of the McGrevy family sang with the choir, Micks father, Mack and his son Robert.

The above is taken from a news paper cutting. From Left to Right

Robert, his dad, Michael (Mick) and his dad Frances (Mack).

Seated at the piano is Mrs. Irene Hill, official accompanist to the choir for 73 years.
